Event illustration
Hello – I’m Jo, your event illustrator. I will capture your guests, producing a style portrait for them to take home as a memento of your event or brand.
I’m happy to add your logos, stamps or stickers to the A5 portraits and I will supply the paper and the materials. I take about 8-10 minutes per person and your guests can pose and have a little chat with me whilst I work.
Guests love taking home a flattering stylish portrait of themselves and it provides a great talking point on the evening.
Aside from drawing people I offer leather painting, and will draw on to most things, including packaging, perfume bottles and even trainers. Here’s some information on my pricing.

Pricing – Live illustration events
My fee for live illustrations is £150- £170 per hour, and I have a 4 hour minimum booking. You can book more of course but I will need a 20 min break every now and then. If you are booking multiple days at once, then I offer a small discretionary discount.
I am based in St Albans but travel to London is not added on. However, for illustration events outside of London, travel will be chargeable, and accommodation if necessary.
Please note I am not VAT registered so the final quote I give you will be just that! The final fee…. Unless you request overtime on the day.
A 40% deposit is required to secure your booking. This is non refundable unless the event is cancelled by an act of god. The remaining fee is due no later than 30 days upon receipt of my invoice.
Working practice for illustrating live
I require a solid table and chair to base myself at. Sadly my old bones don’t allow me to roam and I use a fair amount of colour, requiring lots of different brushes at my disposal.
Lighting, is crucial. I need to be able to see and draw beautiful illustrations for you. Please can you place me near a charging point so we can always draft in an angle poise if needed.
The pens I use tend to be water based so paint can be washed out unless it’s leather painting in which case the paints have been designed to stick around.
I have business insurance to cover certain eventualities.
Please note that all artwork generated at these events remains the IP of Jo Bird. The artworks may be reproduced on social media channels crediting me, and avatars but may not be used for commercial gain.
